Exim Service Down - Not Able to Send or Receive Emails

Here we explain how to recover the Exim service if it is currently down.  If Exim is down sending or receiving emails from all accounts will not be possible. The Exim service status can be checked in Root WHM.  This is related to VPS and Dedicated severs and root access is required to complete the following process.

Check Exim Service

IMPORTANT: This solution will require root access. If this needs to be obtained, follow the guide on requesting root access.

1. Log into Root WHM
2. Click Service Status, located in the Server Status section
   
3. Find the exim service and check if it is down
4. If exim is reported as down click Mail Server (Exim) from the Root WHM dashboard, located in the Restart Services section
   
5. Click Yes and the Exim service will restart
   NOTE: If the issue persists or the Exim service fails to restart reach out to Technical Support for further assistance.
