With snapshots, a single backup can be created of the state of the entire container or server, including running processes, and quickly be restored it back to that point at any time. Snapshots cannot restore individual files and cannot be used to restore the container elsewhere. Snapshots can be stored free of charge for up to 7 days before being automatically removed. Long-term slots are available as well.
Snapshots can be created, used to restore or revert a container, and deleted or removed. In this article, we'll discuss how to manage each aspect of snapshots. Snapshots are available on all VPS+ hosting.
NOTE: Creating and restoring snapshots are instant. Snapshots record everything on the VPS as it was at that present moment, and everything is backed up. This should not be used as a backup measure for single sites because it cannot restore just one file, you must restore all of it or none of it.

Long Term Storage vs Short Term Storage
Any snapshot residing under “Free Snapshots” (short term storage) will be automatically deleted after 7 days from its creation date. If you’ve created a snapshot and need to hold on to it for long-term use you can easily drag that created snapshot from the Free Snapshots area to any of your available Long-Term Storage Slots.
You will not be able to move a snapshot from a Long-term slot back to the Free snapshots list after 7 days from the initial creation date. You can, however, permanently delete it. Deleting a Snapshot from a Long-term Storage Slot immediately makes that slot available for storage of any other snapshot residing under “Free Snapshots.”
Cost of Snapshot Storage:
Age of Snapshots | Price |
Less than 7 days | Free |
More than 7 days | $1 per Month per Slot |
