The following steps explain how to disable caching on a website. This process can vary depending on how caching was implemented on the site. Disabling caching is useful if changes are being made to site content. This will allow the changes to be viewed on the web. Enabling caching after the changes are complete is recommended.
Access to cPanel will be needed to complete the steps below.

Disable Caching
- If you have a WordPress caching plugin:
- Log into your website's dashboard
- Find the settings for your caching plugin
- Disable the plugin
- If you have Cache Manager/Nginx:
- Log into cPanel
- Click on Cache Manager, located in the Software area
- Select the domain from the dropdown menu and go to the Options tab
- Disable caching by selecting No next to Enable Caching
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save Changes
- If you set up caching with the .htaccess file:
- Log into cPanel
- Navigate to File Manager, located in the Files section
- Locate the site's document root
- Edit the .htaccess file
- Comment out the lines that are enabling caching
TIP: If you don't see it in that .htaccess file, check any other .htaccess files that you have relating to the site. - Click Save Changes
NOTE: If your site is being cached through a third party such as CloudFlare or Sucuri, you will need to contact the provider for instructions.
