Add a WordPress Theme

Here we discuss how to add a theme in the WordPress dashboard.  Adding a theme will allow you to change the appearance your site.  Access to the WordPress administrator dashboard will be needed to install a theme.

Install WordPress Theme

1. Take a backup of the site
   1. This ensures that if the theme breaks the site it can be reverted back to its previous state
      CAUTION: If using BoldGrid, test out the theme before continuing development.  Adding a new WordPress theme in the middle of the development of a BoldGrid site, and then activating that theme can oftentimes results in a broken website.
2. Log into the WordPress dashboard
3. Once in the dashboard hover over Appearance on the menu bar on the left
4. Click on Themes
   
   
5. At the top of the page click the "Add New" box
   
   
   1. This area will allow a new theme to be uploaded to the site
   2. New themes can be searched here
      
6. Once a theme has been chosen click Install on the theme
7. Then Activate to activate the theme on the website
8. The new theme should now be installed and active on the website
