When running your own Minecraft server instance, you can install custom plugins. These plugins can add more functionality to your servers, such as advanced chat (EssentialsX), compatibility (ViaVersion), and moderation tools (LuckPerms), among many other things.
For example, if you want more control over user access or block hacks, you can install the Matrix AntiCheat plugin to add this ability.
You might consider uninstalling a Minecraft plugin for several reasons. These include compatibility issues with the game's updates, causing crashes or glitches; the plugin no longer serving its intended purpose or becoming obsolete due to changes in gameplay or preferences; potential security risks posed by the plugin's code; or its performance impact negatively affecting the overall gameplay experience. Uninstalling a plugin can help maintain the stability, security, and overall enjoyment of your Minecraft experience.
