This article covers what to do when you are unable to connect to your server over SSH, or your IP is potentially blocked on the server. We explain how to whitelist your IP using CSF, APF, and/or cPHulk.
At this time, it is not possible to whitelist an IP address on our shared servers. An upgrade to a VPS or Dedicated Server hosting plan would be required.

Locate the IP address
NOTE: The IP address displayed is the local IP address seen by the rest of the Internet. You will need to copy your IPv4 address for the steps below. - Log into Root WHM
- Click on ConfigServer Security & Firewall located in the Plugins area
- Scroll down and add the IP Address inside the Quick Allow green box
- Click Quick Allow
APF Firewall

Locate the IP address
NOTE: The IP address displayed is the local IP address seen by the rest of the Internet. You will need to copy your IPv4 address for the steps below. - Log into Root WHM
- Search for Add IP to Firewall in the search box on the top left
- Enter the IP address in the Allow Rule: field
- Click the Add Rule / Restart button
NOTE: IP addresses cannot be viewed in the firewall through the WHM. To view the IP addresses, check in the following file through ssh:/etc/apf/allow_hosts.rules

Whitelist using SSH
- SSH into the server as Root
- Run
/scripts/cphulkdwhitelist [IP]
REPLACE: [IP] with the relevant IP.

Whitelist using Root WHM
- Click on cPHulk Brute Force Protection, located in the Security Center section
- Select the Whitelist Management tab
- Add the IP under New Whitelist Records
TIP: Adding a Comment to note the specific IP is recommended. - Click Add
- Click on cPHulk Brute Force Protection, located in the Security Center section
