Install Third-Party SSL

There are many options when it comes to SSL certificates. cPanel provides free SSL certificates through its AutoSSL feature, and dedicated Domain Validated (DV) certificates can be purchased in your Account Management Panel (AMP).

However, in some cases you may need SSL features not offered by those options, such as an EV or OV certificate, a wildcard certificate, or a multi domain certificate. While we are not able to offer these types of certificates, we are happy to help with the installation.

Here we cover the steps to request a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) for a third party SSL certificate and have the certificate installed by our Support team.

Third Party SSL Installation

IMPORTANT: There is an installation fee of $25.00 USD for all Third-Party SSL installations performed by our team.

1. On the My Account page in AMP, locate and click the Simple CSR Request for 3rd party SSL icon
   
2. Click the Request a CSR button to continue
   
   
3. Enter the domain the certificate will be installed on
   NOTE: This will only accept a single domain. If a multi-domain or wildcard certificate is needed, a CSR will need to be manually created in your cPanel or WHM.
   
   
4. Click the Continue button
   
5. Fill in the requested information in Step 2
   1. Email Address: Enter a valid email address
   2. Certificate Name: Enter the domain the certificate will be installed on
   3. City: Enter the name of your city
   4. State: Enter the full name of the state or province. Abbreviations are not accepted.
   5. Country: Enter your country's two letter abbreviation code (e.g. US, GB, ES, etc.)
   6. Company Name: Enter the name of your company; this can be the domain name for personal websites/blogs
      
   7. Company Division: This can be left blank
      
6. Click the Continue button
7. Your CSR will be provided on this page and sent to you by email; provide this to your certificate provider
   
8. Once the SSL files have been provided to you by the certificate provider, return to your AMP and once again navigate to Simple CSR Request for 3rd party SSL
9. Click on Submit Your SSL Zip Files Now under the Existing CSR Request on the right-hand side of the page
   
10. Click the Choose File button and select the Zip file you received from the SSL provider
    
11. Enter any special notes or instructions our Support staff may need to be aware of during the installation
12. Click the Submit button
    NOTE: The certificate will be installed by our Support team as soon as possible. You will receive an email once the installation is complete.
