Change Root Password in AMP

The following steps explain how to change the root password in the Account Management Panel (AMP).  This process can only be completed for VPS and Dedicated server hosting plans. Be sure to save your password in a safe location after the change.

Change Root Password

1. On the My Account page in AMP, locate and click the Change Root Password icon
   
   Note: If the Change Root Password icon is not present you will need to first click the Request Root Access Icon and set up root access.
   
   
2. The page will redirect in AMP to the Login and Security Page
3. At the bottom of the page click the drop-down that says Root
   1. View the following notice that will appear:
      

      

4. Enter the current AMP password and click the blue Reset Root Password button
   
5. Root Password for DOMAIN.COM will appear followed by the password
