This article goes into detail on how to request root access in AMP. Having root access will allow the ability to perform tasks on the server that require elevated permissions.
This is only applicable to our VPS and Dedicated Server hosting environments.

TIP: If, at any time, you're unsure about running a command as the Root user, please contact our Technical Support team for further assistance to prevent possible damage to the server.
- On the My Account page in AMP, locate and select the Request Root Access icon
- Read the disclaimer concerning issues and the remedy process if the server is damaged as a result of having Root access
- If you Disagree to the Disclaimer
- Please stop here and contact Technical Support for further help
- Without agreeing to this disclaimer, we will, unfortunately, be unable to provide you Root access to the server
- If you Agree to the Disclaimer
- Once agreed, the final screen will confirm the setup of Root Access
- The root password will be displayed for use
