Use Maldet on CWP

Maldet, short for Linux Malware Detect, is a popular open-source malware scanner for Linux-based systems. It's designed to detect and remove malicious software and scripts that may compromise the security of your server or website.

Maldet uses signature-based and heuristic scanning techniques to identify potential threats and is often used by system administrators to enhance the security of their Linux servers. Maldet is available for installation on Control Web Panel (CWP) servers.

IMPORTANT: This solution will require root access. If this needs to be obtained, follow the guide on requesting root access.

1. Log into CWP Admin
2. Expand Security
   
   
3. Select Security Maldet Scan
   
   
4. If Maldet is not installed
   1. Click Install Maldet
      
      
   2. Click Confirm Install
   3. Click X to return to the previous screen once the installation is complete
5. In the drop-down, select the user to scan
   
6. Click Scan
   TIP: From the command line, you can also use maldet --scan-all to scan all users.
