This article covers how to delete a file from the File Manager in cPanel. cPanel allows files to be deleted through its web interface, rather than requiring you connect over FTP or SSH in order to delete or remove a file.

Deleting Files
- Log into cPanel
- Navigate to File Manager, located in the Files section
- Locate the file that needs to be removed
TIP: If this is a file under a specific domain, locate the Document Root of that domain to find the file. - Click on the file so that it is highlighted
TIP: To highlight multiple files hold the CTRL key while selecting files. - Locate the Delete Button at the top of the File manager
TIP: An alternative method is to right-click on the file and click Delete from the popup menu. - A popup will show asking to confirm the deletion of the files
- To remove the files from the server completely check the box that says Skip the trash and permanently delete the files

- The file is now deleted
TIP: If the file was not permanently deleted, it can be recovered from the hidden .trash folder.
