Reset FTP Account Password

If you've lost or forgotten your FTP account password, it can be reset easily in your cPanel. Here we cover the steps for resetting the password for an FTP account that was manually created in cPanel.

NOTE: The default FTP user uses the same password used to login to cPanel. To reset this password you will need to reset the cPanel password.

Reset Password

1. Log into cPanel
2. Navigate to FTP Accounts, located under the Files section
   
3. Locate the account under the FTP Accounts section and click Change Password
   
4. Enter a strong password in the Password field or select Password Generator to generate a random one, then enter the same password in the Password (Again) field
   
5. Click Change Password
