When accessing the website URL, the site is resolving to a server default page containing the server name and the device's current IP address. Typically this is a result of the site resolving to the incorrect server or IP address. This guide will explain how to confirm the correct IP address when you see an error like the following:

Confirm IP
NOTE: Typically, this default landing page is the result of a domain resolving to the wrong IP. Double-check to confirm the correct IP is being used and update the IP if needed. If the problem persists, please reach out to our technical support team.
- Locate the correct IP address by viewing one of the following
- From cPanel
- From the cPanel dashboard, view General Information
- The correct IP is listed under Shared IP or Dedicated IP
EXAMPLE:
- From WHM (if available)
- Navigate to List Accounts, located in the Account Information section
- View the IP Address column for the specific cPanel
EXAMPLE:
- View the IP Address column for the specific cPanel
- Navigate to List Accounts, located in the Account Information section
- From AMP
- Navigate to the Account Technical Details
- The correct IP address can be found next to IP Address
IMPORTANT: On reseller or VPS+ hosting, a unique IP can be assigned to a specific cPanel, so the IP address listed under Technical Details may not be accurate for a specific cPanel. Please check under WHM or cPanel for the correct IP address in this case.
EXAMPLE:
- Navigate to the Account Technical Details
- From cPanel
- Update the domain's A record to the correct IP or update the IP for the site's A record with the external nameservers
NOTE: DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate.
IMPORTANT: If the domain's nameservers are not currently pointed to InMotion Hosting Nameservers, the DNS will need to be updated on the appropriate nameservers.
