A zone file is a crucial component of the Domain Name System (DNS) infrastructure. It is a text file that contains important DNS information about a specific domain, such as the mapping of domain names to corresponding IP addresses.
The zone file includes records like A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, and TXT, which define various aspects of the domain's DNS configuration. It also specifies the authoritative name servers responsible for managing the domain's DNS records.
Zone files play a vital role in translating human-readable domain names into machine-readable IP addresses, enabling proper routing and accessibility of websites and services on the internet. This guide covers how to find the raw zone file using WHM and CWP Admin.
On our Shared and WordPress hosting, WHM and CWP Admin are not available. On these plans, please reach out to our Technical Support department if the raw zone file is needed.
