Dynamic DNS (DDNS) in cPanel is a feature that allows users to automatically update their domain's DNS records with the current IP address of their server or device, even when the IP address changes frequently.
This is particularly useful for individuals or businesses that host some services on their servers or devices with changing IP addresses.
With cPanel's DDNS functionality, users can ensure that their domain name always points to the correct IP address, maintaining accessibility to their services without the need for manual updates whenever the IP address changes, thus streamlining the process of managing dynamic IP addresses for their domains.
This feature works by generating a URL (hosted on the cPanel server) to which a service or device will connect and update DNS automatically. Once the URL is generated in cPanel, it will need to be configured within the service or device on the external network to connect periodically to that URL. The device will have to connect to the URL, where cPanel will then accept and process the request to update DNS for the specified domain, pointing to the IP address from which the request was received.
