BoldGrid is a specialized plugin that can be added to your WordPress installation to enhance not only your website design and maintenance, but maximize both in service to your digital marketing goals. BoldGrid allows users to add pages to their website and content to those pages with just a few clicks. This guide covers the process of installing BoldGrid using Softaculous.
BoldGrid can always be installed on an existing WordPress installation by manually installing the BoldGrid plugin, or performed as a one-click installation following the steps below.

Installing BoldGrid
NOTE: On our VPS and Dedicated servers, the BoldGrid Softaculous package needs to be installed for the option to be available in Softaculous. Please reach out to Technical Support for assistance.
IMPORTANT: During the install, you may be presented with an error indicating you have an .htaccess file. You can either remove that file from your account manually or select the checkbox to overwrite it and then attempt to install BoldGrid again.
- Log into cPanel
- Navigate to Softaculous Apps Installer, located in the Software section
- Hover over the BoldGrid icon on the main page
- Click Install
- In the Software Setup area, fill out the following fields
- Choose Protocol: Select whether to use the https:// or https:// (secure) protocol
- Choose Domain: Select the domain or subdomain to install BoldGrid on
- In Directory: If wanting to install BoldGrid into a subfolder and not the main domain, enter the folder name here
NOTE: The folder can't currently exist as it will be created upon installation.
- In the Site Settings area, fill out the following fields
- Site Name: Enter the name of the site (IE, Jane's Crafts)
- Site Description: Enter a tagline or subtitle (IE, The best site for unique crafts!)
- Enable Multisite (WPMU): Leave this unchecked for BoldGrid
- Enter the Admin Account information to create the Administrator account for the site
- Admin Username: Provide the admin username
TIP: Avoid using the name "admin". - Admin Password: Provide a strong password and use the strength indicator to determine if the desired password is strong enough
- Admin Email: Provide the email address to use for the admin account and ensure it's valid so information regarding the site can be received
- Admin Username: Provide the admin username
- Select the appropriate Language (English is set by default)
- Obtain the BoldGrid Connect Key
- Click the blue Install button
TIP: Input an email address in the field "Email installation details to:" if installation details should be emailed anywhere. - Once the message Congratulations, the software was installed successfully is displayed, BoldGrid can be used
