Install Joomla with Softaculous

Installing Joomla

1. Log into the cPanel
2. Navigate to the Softaculous Apps Installer, located in the Software section
   
3. Select Joomla in the menu, located under Portals/CMS
   
   NOTE: While Joomla 2.5 does show up in the suggested software list, Joomla 2.5 has reached its end of life and cannot be installed.
4. Click Install Now
   
    
5. Fill in the installation details
   1. In the Software Setup
      1. Choose Protocol
         1. Select whether to use HTTP or HTTPS
      2. Choose Domain
         1. Select the domain or subdomain to install the site to
      3. In Directory
         1. Select whether to install the site to a subdirectory
            EXAMPLE: If you enter the directory "joomla" for the domain domain.com, the site would be installed to domain.com/joomla.  If you want to install the site to the domain root (domain.com in this example), you'll want to leave this blank.
      4. Choose the version you want to install
         NOTE: Joomla 2.5 has reached its end of life, so it is no longer being updated.  In most cases you will want to choose the most up-to-date version.
   2. In the Site Settings
      1. Site Name
         1. Enter the name of the site
      2. Site Description
         1. Enter a short description of the site
   3. In Admin Account
      1. Admin Username
         NOTE: This is the username you will use to log into the site.
      2. Admin PasswordTIP: This is the password you will use to log into the site.  Use the key icon to automatically generate a secure password if desired.
      3. Real Name
         1. Select the name to associate with the admin account
      4. Admin Email
         1. Select the email address to associate with the admin account
            TIP: This email address will also be used for things like resetting the password.
   4. Choose Language
   5. Advanced Options
      NOTE: These options control some initial database settings.  In most cases, you will not need to adjust these and should leave them as is.
6. If desired, enter an email address to receive the installation details to
7. Click Install at the bottom of the page
