You can view or change your instance information within the Minecraft Game Management Panel interface. From there, you can perform tasks such as viewing your connection settings, Updating Minecraft, starting/stopping an instance, deleting an instance, or changing the port you use for SFTP, among many other things. This lets you modify the server to meet your needs and can help to further secure your instance.
In this guide, we will go over the Instance Management options to edit an existing instance in your Game Management Panel.
Edit Instance Settings
- Log into your Game Management Panel
- The Instances page should be loaded, but if not, click Instances on the left menu
- Click the Edit Settings button on the right of the screen
- From there, the Friendly Name or Description of the instance can be updated
TIP: This can be used to help identify the purpose of the instance.
EXAMPLE: The friendly name could be set to Test Server to differentiate it from the other live ones. - There are also options to set the instance to
- Start on Boot
- Suspended
- Exclude From the Firewall
- Run in a Docker Container
- Click the Save Changes button after choosing from the options
- Click the Continue button on the confirmation message that appears
NOTE: The changes will be saved, and the instance will be shut down. - Click the Start Instance button to bring it Online again
