Temporary URL

These steps explain how to locate the temporary URL used to view the files in the public_html directory of a user on a hosting account.  This value is unique to every hosting account and the information needed can be obtained from the Account Management Panel (AMP).  The temporary URL will allow you to view site files in the public_html directory without the need to point the DNS to the InMotion Hosting server.

Find Temporary URL

1. Log into AMP
2. Locate and click on the Technical Account Details button
   
3. Locate Temp URL:  to find the Temporary URL value
   NOTE: The Temporary URL is used to view the public_html of a user on an account. If a domain does not have the DNS pointed to the server this URL will only allow that directory to be viewed and anything within it. Other directories are not able to be viewed with this method and will have to instead use a Host File Modification.
   NOTE: The TEMP URL uses the Hostname on the server. For a Shared Server this will include the user behind it.

   EXAMPLE: Shared Server Hostname Example: http://biz221.inmotionhosting.com/~userna5/
   EXAMPLE: VPS Hosting Example: https://vps12345.inmotionhosting.com/~userna5/
   

   TIP: To View a site on a VPS server that is not the primary user edit the TEMP URL to include the specific cPanel username of the account to be viewed (this will only allow viewing of the public_html of the users).
