Change cPanel Password Using WHM

In the event you have lost or forgotten your cPanel password or need to set one for the first time, you can easily change or reset it in your WHM. We cover this process below.

This article applies to VPS, Dedicated servers, and child cPanel accounts on Reseller hosting plans.

Reset cPanel Password

1. Log into WHM
   NOTE: If the account is owned by the root user on a VPS or Dedicated server, you will need to login to Root WHM instead.
2. Navigate to Account Functions -> Password Modification
   
   
3. Select the applicable cPanel account
   
4. Enter the desired password in the New Password field or use the Generate button to insert a randomly generated password, then enter the password again in the Confirm Password field
   
5. Click the Change Password button
