Here we will cover how to reduce the delay time when sending emails through an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Oftentimes, when sending emails through an ERP, they will arrive delayed, or they will be delivered late.
Turning off "Introduce a delay into the SMTP transaction for unknown hosts and messages detected as spam" via Root WHM is an effective way to mitigate this delay time. We will cover that method here.
Disabling the Delay for SMTP Transactions
IMPORTANT: This solution will require root access. If this needs to be obtained, follow the guide on requesting root access.
- Log into Root WHM
- Expand the Service Configuration dropdown on the left side
- Select Exim Configuration Manager
- Locate the "Introduce a delay into the SMTP transaction for unknown hosts and messages detected as spam." option
- You can use the Find search bar to the top-right of the list of rules to quickly search for the rule
- Switch the setting from On to Off
- Scroll down and click Save
