Here we discuss steps to ensure there are dedicated IP addresses available to assign to a cPanel account based on plan type. We then cover how to assign the Dedicated IP using Root WHM.
A dedicated IP address can be used to access a website without active DNS, can improve loading times during periods of high traffic, and reduces risk of IP blocking as the IP is not being shared with anyone else.

TIP: If there are multiple that you would like to do at once, click Change Multiple Sites IP Address in the Multi Account Functions area of Root WHM.
IMPORTANT: This solution will require root access. If this needs to be obtained, follow the guide on requesting root access.
- Log into Root WHM
- Locate and click Account Functions
- Locate and click Change Site's IP address to view a list of cPanel accounts on the server
- Select the cPanel account you wish to apply the IP address to and click Change
- Select the IP address you wish to assign from the New Address drop down menu
- Click Change to apply the IP address to the cPanel account
Note: If there is not an IP available to assign and the total number included in the plan has not been exceeded, you will want to reach out to our Technical Support team for IP provisioning. Otherwise, follow the guide on requesting a dedicated IP address.
- Select the cPanel account you wish to apply the IP address to and click Change
