Change Email Password

There are several reasons an email password would need to be changed, such as resetting a password for regular security maintenance, rotating passwords after staff changes, or resetting the password in the case of a hack.

Passwords can be changed via cPanel or directly in Webmail.

In this article, we cover both ways to change/reset the password for an email account that is hosted with us.

Via cPanel

1. Log into cPanel for the appropriate domain
2. Locate Email Accounts
   
   
3. Click Manage by the email account you wish to update the password for
   
   NOTE: Some versions of cPanel call it Password Modification or something similar.
4. Type in a new password or use the Generate button to have a random password generated
   
   
5. Scroll down and click Update Email Settings
   
   

Via Webmail

1. Log into cPanel for the appropriate domain or log into the email account directly with Webmail
   NOTE: If logging into Webmail, directly proceed to step 4 below. 
2. Locate Email Accounts
   
3. Click the Check Email button 
   
   
4. Click on the email address in the top right of Webmail
5. Select Password & Security from the drop-down
   
6. Update the password
