In this guide we explain how to manage email filters in CWP. Below are details on how to create individual filters as well as filter templates. Email filters are useful for managing spam emails or creating rules and actions for certain emails based on email subject, from address, body content, and other factors.
Create Filter Templates
NOTE: Filter templates are useful if a specific set of filter rules and actions need to be applied to multiple email accounts. By creating the template you can quickly apply the filter template when managing the email account filter settings.
- Log into the CWP User associated with the domain
- In the menu on the left click Email Accounts
- Click Email Filters
- Select the Filter Templates tab at the top of the Email Filters area
- Click the blue Add new filter template button
- Name the filter template and set the rules and actions for the filter
NOTE: If needed, the green + icons under For incoming mail and execute the following actions can be used to set multiple rules. - Once the filter rules and actions are set, click the blue Save button
Create Email Filters
- Log into the CWP User associated with the domain
- In the menu on the left click Email Accounts
- Click Email Filters
- Click Manage filters next to the corresponding email account
- Click Add set to create a new filter set if there is not a set already present
IMPORTANT: There can only be one filter set active at a time for each email account. If there is an existing filter set that needs to be used you will need to create the new filter in the existing active set.
- Click the green cog icon next to the filter set
- Click the blue + icon next to Filters in set
NOTE: If there is an existing filter applied to the filter set that needs to be modified you can instead click the blue Edit button next to the filter name.
- Choose the option to create a new filter or apply an existing filter template
- Once the filter has been created with the necessary rules and actions click the Save Filter button
NOTE: If needed, the green + icons under For incoming mail and execute the following actions can be used to set multiple rules.
