Convert Addon Domain to cPanel Account - Tool in Root WHM

Here we will cover how to quickly convert an addon domain to a new cPanel account in RootWHM by using the Convert Addon Domain to cPanel Account tool.

The above tool allows you to automatically convert an addon domain into a new cPanel account without having to use FTP or manually import the database.

RootWHM is only available on VPS+ hosting plans at this time.

What to do or how to resolve:

IMPORTANT: This solution will require root access. If this needs to be obtained, follow the guide on requesting root access.
TIP: It is recommended to create a server snapshot or Full cPanel backup before making changes to cPanel accounts on the server.

1. Log into Root WHM
2. Click Convert Addon Domain to Account, located under the Transfers section in the left side panel
   
3. Click the Convert button next to the addon domain that you want to convert to a new cPanel account
   
4. You can then configure the Account Settings, Website Configuration, Custom DNS records, Email, MySQL Databases, and Subaccounts
5. After choosing the account settings, click the Start Conversion button at the bottom of the page
   
6. The conversion will then begin
   1. The conversion is completed when you see the “The conversion of the domain succeeded.” message
