Domain Exists in the Userdata
NOTE: If the cPanel being created is using an addon domain or alias domain that is already added to another cPanel, an error will occur when attempting to create the cPanel account stating that the domain already exists in userdata. To fix this the domain will need to be removed from the existing cPanel.
TIP: Addon domains can be split into their own cPanel: Convert addon domain to cPanel account.
- If the correct cPanel is not known:
- Log into WHM
- Navigate to List Subdomains under Account Information
- Find the offending domain under Addon or Parked Domain and find the user with the domain under User
EXAMPLE: - Now that the correct cPanel is known, continue to Step 2
- If the correct cPanel is known:
- Log into the cPanel with the offending domain
- Navigate to Domains in the Domains section of cPanel
- Select Manage next to the domain under Actions
- Select the option to Remove Domain
- Once the domain is removed, then attempt to create the cPanel account again
DNS Entry Already Exists
IMPORTANT: This solution will require root access. If this needs to be obtained, follow the guide on requesting root access.
NOTE: After Removal of a cPanel account there are times when Root WHM will save the DNS Zone and an error will occur when attempting to recreate the cPanel account stating that the DNS entry already exists on the server. To fix this the DNS Zone must be deleted in Root WHM.
- Login to Root WHM
- Navigate to Delete a DNS Zone under DNS Functions
- Check the box for the domain that needs to be removed
- Click the Delete button
- A new page will appear confirming which DNS Zone is being removed
- Click Delete to remove the DNS Zone
- A message may appear saying Removal Complete
- Attempt to create the cPanel account again
