Here we discuss steps to change the SpamAssassin Spam Threshold Score.
Adjusting the Spam Threshold can be helpful if spam emails are not being flagged as such, or if legitimate email is being flagged as spam.
This is completed within the Spam Filters utility and access to cPanel will be needed to adjust this setting.

Enable Spam Filters
Adjust Spam Threshold Score
- Log into cPanel
- Under the Email section, locate and click Spam Filters
- Under Process New Emails and Mark them as Spam, click Spam Threshold Score
- Use the dropdown menu to update the Spam Threshold Score to what is desired
NOTE: 5 is the default setting. The lower the score, the more messages will be marked as spam. The higher the score, the less will be marked as spam. - Click Update Scoring Options
